This person is important to me because she is my mom and has been with me since day one. She does what moms do best and then some. With a divorced family situation she is able to put me first with the situation and how it will be beneficial to me, which takes a lot for a person to do. I was able to show her personality by using outside lighting because she loved the outdoors, even having her in the kitchen while wearing an apron because she loves to cook and read cookbooks like crazy. This unit has changed my photography, I used to just take a photo wherever no matter what the lighting situation was. Now I look around and think twice on where I can find the lighting to set the right mood.
From looking at the picture I can tell your mom likes to read, cook and be outside. Also in all of these pictures she seems happy and warm. The way she is smiling in these pictures gives me the idea that she is happy and there isn’t one picture where she is not smiling. The pictures outside in the woods or near trees make me think that she likes to be outside. The artificial picture of her cooking and the existing light of her reading are obviously showing that she likes to read and cook, or is a good cook. I really liked the focus in these pictures and the way you edited them in black and white they look really nice. I also liked how you have her different places and that the pictures just weren’t all in the same place. Next time I would try and take some different types of shots besides head shots because there was only one that was not and so there did not seem to be much variety. But your pictures did come out very well.
ReplyDeleteKailey, your model is, I assume, a very happy person because in every picture she is smiling. I can tell she loves to cook because in the photos, she is reading cookbooks and looks like she’s in the kitchen. I think you really took the backgrounds into consideration because in all of the photos have interesting backgrounds. It doesn’t look like you spent a lot of time editing on Photoshop. That is completely okay though. The photos don’t look very dramatic but more calm and mellow. Also I noticed that all the pictures are in black and white. I think if some were in color, it would bring out more of the cheerful and happy image you are trying to create. I think you are really successful at capturing her model’s personality. Her posing ideas are really good. I would not have thought to have the model blowing on a soupspoon and having an apron on AND being in the kitchen. You really got your point across. The only thing I would suggest for next time is that you should maybe keep some of your photos in color so you can give off that happy or cheerful vibe you are trying to have.

ReplyDeleteI think you pretty much got my cheerful personality captured since I am typically checking out cookbooks, cooking and hanging out in the great outdoors. My personal favorite is photo number 4 because I'm outside in the sun, wearing my vintage Oakley sunglasses with a relatively good hair day going on.
